Defining an HCL VersionVault registry host

You can define an HCL VersionVault registry host during or after the site preparation process.

About this task

Because an HCL VersionVault community is defined in part by use of a common registry, the registry server host is usually the first computer in the community on which HCL VersionVault is installed. The HCL VersionVault installation program automates most of this process, and by installing or upgrading the registry server host first, you simplify the process of installing and configuring other hosts in your HCL VersionVault community.

An HCL VersionVault registry server does not have to be configured with support for local VOBs and views, although most communities can designate a VOB or view host as a registry server without degrading overall performance.

The procedure for converting an existing HCL VersionVault host to a registry server depends on the host platform type.
