User permissions

After you edit the Global security policy and add any additional security policies that contain roles and permissions, you must assign users to the roles you defined.

After you assign users to roles, users can access only information and perform tasks for which they have permission.

Note the following information:

  • If you do not assign a role to a user, the Global policy determines the user's permissions.
  • If you decide to remove a role from a security policy, all users that are assigned to the role immediately lose access to anything that the role allowed them to access. This occurs even if the user is logged in.
