Requirement for including the mobile app user ID (XID) in a list

When you send push notifications to a list of recipients, the list must define a personalization field that provides the mobile app user ID for each recipient on the list. System administrators can define a default personalization field for this purpose, but the field must be included in the OLT that is referenced by the notification push.

When a person installs your mobile app on a mobile device, the device registers itself with IBM and also identifies the app that is running on the device. Unica messaging systems create a unique mobile app user ID to identify the specific combination of mobile device and mobile app. The mobile app user ID is also called the XID.

The mobile app user ID must be available in the marketing database so that you can select it with an Unica Campaign flowchart.

The mobile app user ID is mapped to the specific device and app that are owned by your customer. The mobile app user ID serves as the address to which Deliver sends push notifications. You must define a personalization field in Unica Campaign that maps to the mobile app user ID that is stored in the marketing database.
