Templates for personalized email

In Unica Deliver, personalized email is based on a template. The template is an HTML document that defines areas of fixed content and customizable areas where you can add other content (including images, text, and HTML snippets) that displays according to characteristics of the email recipient.

When you run a mailing, Deliver uses the template as the framework for all of the email messages that are sent as part of the same mailing. When an email recipient opens a hosted landing page or online form that is linked to the email, Deliver uses a landing page template as the basis for rendering the page or form.

In the Deliver Quick Builder, you add content and modify templates without ever having to access the underlying HTML code. The resulting combination of template and content is referred to as a Deliver communication. A communication is a required component in every Deliver mailing and must be referenced in the mailing configuration. See the Quick Builder topic to build email and other type of communications using Quick Builder.
