SMS Message Summary Report

The SMS Message Summary Report describes the delivery status of SMS messages that you sent. The report also provides information that you can use to compare delivery and response results between the various telecommunications carriers that processed the messages.

The report presents SMS delivery and response results for each messaging instance. A messaging instance is a group of SMS messages that are initiated at a specific time, sent to recipients listed in a specific Output List table (OLT), and associated with a specific SMS communication. You create an SMS message instance by running an Deliver mailing that references an SMS communication and an OLT that contains recipient mobile phone numbers.

Note: The SMS Message Summary Report is the only Deliver performance report that contains information for SMS messages. You cannot select an SMS instance in other performance reports, nor do the reports contain link click or delivery data for SMS messages.

The report contains two sections, which display in separate browser windows.

  • The Message Delivery Response Breakout section presents results for each messaging instance within a single campaign. A campaign can contain multiple messaging instances.
  • The SMS Message Carrier Level Report presents results for each of the telecommunications carriers that processed messages that are included in a specific messaging instance.

Both sections display delivery results numerically in a table and graphically as a chart. The combination of tabular data and graphical representation make it possible to see specific message totals and make broad comparisons.

The following table lists the delivery results that are available in the report. The totals for each category are listed in a table. The report includes a chart to illustrate comparative results by category.
