Editing personalization field properties
Personalization field properties can affect the behavior of functions in Deliver that rely upon the personalization field values for recipients and landing page visitors. Some personalization field properties cannot be changed.
About this task
If you create content elements in the Message Editor that provide multiple variations, you define the variation values on this page.
Procedure
- Go to Settings > Deliver Settings and click Display a list of all Personalization Fields.
- In the Name column, click the name
of the personalization field that you want to modify. The Personalization Field Properties page displays.
- On the Personalization Field Properties page, edit properties
for the selected personalization field. Place the cursor into the
blank field beneath the property name to enter values. You cannot edit the personalization field name or the source. The table lists the other changes that you can make.

You cannot change the name of a personalization field.
Description
Add a description to better identify the field in a list of fields. For example, you can indicate in the description which personalization fields are used as variation fields in the Message Editor.
Data Type
Specify a data type as necessary to use personalization fields in personalization rules and scripts.
You can change a data type for OLT personalization fields only.
Source
You cannot change the designated source of a personalization field.

Enter data that appears in communication previews. Enter a value that is consistent with the specified data type.
Add new pf value to list
If you use the selected personalization field as a variation field in the Message Editor, enter values that determine which content variation displays. The values that you enter here appear as a drop down list in the Message Editor.
Enter values for OLT personalization fields only.
Enter values individually and click Add to add each value to the list of possible values.Note: Do not include commas when you enter numbers as values for numeric fields.List of possible values

- Save your changes.
The updated information appears on the Deliver Personalization Fields page, except for the list of possible content variation values.
