Test methods for messagings enabled for transactional messaging

Before you enable a messaging for transactional messaging, you can test the message content, design, and personalization features before you put the messaging into production.

Messages that are enabled for transactional messaging must reference a document that defines the content and personalization of the messaging message that is sent in response to a transactional message request. Testing the document content in advance, including conditional content and personalization elements, can avoid sending a poorly formed message to your customer.

Transactional messagings that are based on a standard messaging might reference an Output List Table (OLT) that defines a recipient list. However, the transactional messaging does not use the list as a source of recipient information. Instead, the local transactional client must provide the required recipient-specific data for the transactional message. You can use test recipients that can be defined in the OLT to test the appearance and personalization behavior of the transactional messaging by running test messagings.

Any of the test methods available for testing standard messagings are available for testing messagings that are enabled for transactional messaging.
