Referencing a recipient list to a message

Personalizing message and landing pages with Deliver depends on the use of personalization fields. To enable the system to properly evaluate personalization fields and provide accurate previews, you must reference the recipient list to the message as early as possible in the messaging configuration process.

Before you begin

To create a recipient list and make it available for reference in the messaging configuration, you must configure and save Deliver process in a campaign flowchart. Ensure that the flowchart exists in the campaign where you created the message and that the recipient list is available.

About this task

The recipient list is created as an Output List Table (OLT). The OLT contains recipient information that is required to personalize the Deliver document that defines the content of the message. To establish the required connection between the list and the communication, you must refer the OLT and the communication to the same mailing.

Every standard message must refer a communication and an OLT. However, message that are used exclusively for transactional message do not require to refer a recipient list.

On the Mailing tab, you must select a recipient list from a menu of recipient lists that exist in the campaign.

Procedure

  1. In the Summary Mailing tab, click Edit to open the mailing page in edit mode.
  2. In the Properties section, select a recipient list from the pull-down list in the Recipient List field.

    The drop-down list contains all recipient lists currently created for the campaign and configured for use with the type of message you are configuring.

  3. To save your selection, click Save Changes.
