Unica Deliver is a web-based, enterprise scale marketing message solution that you can use to conduct outbound bulk messaging and transactional messaging campaigns. Deliver integrates with Unica Campaign and with secure message composition, transmission, and tracking resources that are hosted by Unica.
Previewing email and landing pages
Use the Preview feature in the Message Editor to see how a personalized message might appear to message recipients. Preview simulates how personalized parts of the Deliver document used to create the email, landing page, SMS, WhatsApp may change according to the personal characteristics of each recipient.
About previewing conditionalized content
You can preview conditionalized content in an Deliver document to ensure that the content appears in personalized email as you intend. Conditional content that appears in personalized email is controlled by personalization rules. Personalization rules are configured around values in personalization fields. In the Preview section of the Message Editor, you can substitute different values for personalization fields that are configured in personalization rules.

  Publishing the communication in the Deliver Message Editor makes the communication and the resources it contains available for use in a personalized message or landing page. Publishing a communication does not transmit the communication to message recipients or landing page visitors. However, to send a message through Deliver, you must first publish the message in the Message Editor.

  Personalization fields provide the means to add recipient-specific information from your marketing database to a SMS, email, WhatsApp, push notifications . Personalization fields are also used in rules that control how conditionalized content displays in each personalized message.

  Deliver provides a template-based scripting language for creating self-contained scripts that provide a way to personalize content in ways that you cannot easily duplicate in the Deliver Message Editor.

  You can add offers that you define in Unica Campaign to personalized email that you create and send through Unica Deliver. Including offers in your marketing email gives you an opportunity to deliver a timely and targeted call to action to your audience. The system collects the offer responses and makes the data available in the Campaign contact and response history for use in Campaign performance reports.

Preview of conditionalized content

You can preview conditionalized content in an Deliver document to ensure that the content appears in personalized email as you intend. Conditional content that appears in personalized email is controlled by personalization rules. Personalization rules are configured around values in personalization fields. In the Preview section of the Message Editor, you can substitute different values for personalization fields that are configured in personalization rules.

Substituting values for personalization fields simulates the data variation that you expect in the recipient list that you are using with the document. Depending on the personalization rules that you configured in the document, when you change the value of a personalization field, content in the preview document might change in response.

To preview conditional elements in the document, Deliver validates the data type of the personalization fields that are used in the various condition criteria. To define personalization field data type, you must define the field in an Output List Table (OLT) and upload the OLT to the hosted mailing environment that is maintained by Unica .

You can edit data type of the OLT personalization field that is used in the personalization rule if the data type is incorrectly defined or incorrectly causes rule validation to fail. You can change the personalization field data type from the Deliver Settings page by updating the properties for the field that is configured as a criteria in the personalization rule.
