Editing content in the library

You can edit properties and assets that are associated with a content element that you have added to the Content Library. Folder permissions control the changes that you can make. Changes to a content element affect all communications that use the content element. The system warns you when you attempt to change an element that is used in one or more communications.

About this task

You cannot edit image, PDF, or video assets in the Content Library. The Message Editor does not provide an image, PDF, or video editor. However, you can replace the image, PDF, video added to a content element with another image, PDF, video.

You can edit text and HTML assets that are attached to content elements, including HTML assets that are designated as templates for email and landing pages.

Optionally, you can assign a reference label to the content element so that you can add the content to an email or landing page by reference.

Changes do not affect how an updated content element appears in an email or landing page that you published previously. However, the changes appear when you republish the communication.

Procedure
