Configuring Unica Deliver

To configure to the latest version of Unica Deliver, you must upgrade Unica Campaign to the same version. Note that Deliver is not supported for Campaign in clustered mode in version 12.1.

About this task

If you currently use Unica Deliver, note the following information to upgrade Unica Deliver:
  • Upgrading to the latest version of Unica Campaign and Unica Deliver does not affect your hosted email account settings. You can resume mailing after you complete the upgrade.
  • When changes to the Unica Deliver system tables are part of an upgrade, HCL provides the necessary schema upgrade scripts and procedures. Run the truncate scripts before starting with the upgrade. Users may take the backup of tables, if required. The delete scripts are laid down with files named : ace_op_delete_systab_*.sql.
  • You must set the deliverPluginJarFile for Deliver. Complete the following steps.
    1. Login to Platform and navigate to Settings > configuration.
    2. Navigate to Affinium|Campaign|partitions|partition1|Deliver and provide value for deliverPluginJarFile as below:
      deliverPluginJarFile <CAMPAIGN_HOME>/Deliver/plugin/deliverplugin.jar
    3. Restart Campaign app server.

Procedure

Unica Deliver can be upgraded in one of the following ways:
  • If you currently use Unica Deliver, the upgrade for Unica Deliver occurs when you run the Unica installer in upgrade mode while upgrading Unica Campaign.
  • If you never used Unica Deliver before, the Unica Campaign upgrade installs the necessary Unica Deliver files but does not enable Unica Deliver for use. After you run the upgrade installer, you must complete the pre-deployment configuration steps that are related to Unica Deliver, as described in Configuring Unica Campaign before deployment.
    To use Unica Deliver to send email, you must contact HCL to purchase a hosted email subscription. For information about how to configure Unica Deliver after you purchase an email subscription, see the Unica Deliver Startup and Administrator's Guide.

Restart the Response and Contact tracker (RCT) after the upgrade in one of the following ways.

Restarting the RCT manually

To restart the RCT manually, use the rct start command. The RCT script is stored in the bin directory under your Unica Deliver installation. For more information, see Unica Deliver Response and Contact Tracker (RCT) script.

Restarting the RCT as a service

To restart the RCT every time that you restart the computer where the RCT is installed, add the RCT as a service.

Note: When you restart the RCT as a service, you must manually restart the RCT the first time.
