How to shut down the server when flowcharts use triggers

Problem or error: What issues should I be aware of when I must shut down the server on which Unica Campaign is installed, and I have flowcharts that use triggers?

Solution: Use the following guidelines to ensure that Schedule processes and triggers function correctly after a server shutdown.

  • Use the Unica Campaign Server Manager utility's status command to list all running flowcharts. The utility is unica_svradm.
  • Use the Unica Campaign Server Manager utility to suspend running flowcharts and to resume them after the server is restarted.
  • If you have flowcharts with Schedule processes that are set to run when the server is down, you must rerun those flowcharts manually after restarting the server.
  • If you have flowcharts that would have run on triggers when the server is down, you must run the flowcharts manually after restarting your server.
  • You can use the Trigger Utility (unica_actrg) to broadcast triggers to a specific flowchart or to all flowcharts.
Note: All utilities are located in the bin directory under your Unica Campaign installation. See the Unica Campaign Administrator's Guide for complete information about the Unica Campaign utilities.
