How do I create an account on my BlackBerry 10 device

Before you can connect to an HCL Traveler server with your BlackBerry 10 device, you must create an HCL Traveler or Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account.

For the specific device OS requirements, see this article.

There are two distinct and different procedures depending on which of the two connection methods your company has chosen.
Note: BlackBerry 10 devices only support one account Traveler definition per perimeter ( work / personal ).

Connecting to HCL Traveler using BES 10

  7. Select Next.
  8. Create a BlackBerry Balance password. This password is required to access your work data (work perimeter) on the device.
  9. When prompted, enter your HCL Traveler password, and select OK.
  10. Activation will complete and HCL Traveler mail, calendar and contacts should begin to sync within a minute.

Connecting directly to HCL Traveler

  5. Enter your password then press Next.
Note: You may see a message stating, This email provider may not be trustworthy. Personal information may not be protected. Ignore this message and press Continue button.
  6. The BlackBerry device will attempt to assist you in setting up the account. You may be prompted to add additional server information using the Advanced Setup. Press OK if you see a message stating, Unable to find connection information. Please use advanced setup. Then press the Advanced icon.
