Encrypting or signing messages

For more security, you can encrypt or digitally sign messages that you send.

Procedure

  1. From Microsoft™ Outlook, click Home and then New Email.
  2. Select either of the following options:
    • Encrypt Mail
    • Sign Mail
  3. Enter the password for your IBM® Notes® ID, if prompted. When you select these options in the future, you won't be prompted for the password again unless your password changes.
  4. Complete the email and send it.

What to do next

If you can't encrypt or sign mail, you might need to import your IBM Notes ID file to the cloud from SmartCloud Notes web. For more information, see the topic Importing your Notes IDImporting your Notes ID. If you don't have a Notes ID file, contact your administrator.
