Applying maintenance

Applying maintenance to the SafeLinx Client involves downloading software, directions for which vary depending upon your operating system.

Links to code fixes, for entitled customers, are available from the IBM SafeLinx Product Support website. The IBM® Mobile Connect updates are on IBM Fix Central product Support website. IBM SafeLinx customers can register at the website for an IBM ID if they do not already have one. A list of authorized IDs was created at the time which IBM SafeLinx was purchased from IBM. If the IBM ID being used to access IBM SafeLinx is not on this list an entitlement failure message is received. Contact your IBM marketing representative for assistance with the authorized users list.

The Mac OS X version is about 18MB and the file name is WC<version>Mac.dmg.

After downloading the file:

  1. Double-click the dmg file to mount the installation package.
  2. In the Finder window, double-click the SafeLinxClient.pkg file to start the installation program.
  3. Review the readme file that is displayed as part of the installation. The readme file is located in /usr/local/SafeLinxClient/.
  4. Select the Macintosh HD volume as the destination.
