Roaming between networks
In IP-based networks, the SafeLinx Client can dynamically switch the secure connection to the SafeLinx Server from one physical network adapter to another. The switch to the secure connection is completed with little or no user intervention and usually with no interruption to applications.
- When multiple interface adapters are available, the client allows the user to easily switch between them. On a device that cannot support multiple adapters, a user can remove one adapter and replace it with another. The SafeLinx Client detects the change and automatically switches the connection to the new adapter with no user intervention.
- To make sure that an adapter is successfully linked to the network, from the command line enter /sbin/mii-tool. The response looks like eth0: negotiated 100baseTx-FD flow-control, link ok. If the link is okay, then the SafeLinx Client can get the status from the adapter and automatically roam to that interface adapter.
