Starting or stopping the server

You can start or stop the server to install a newer version of the server or uninstall the existing version of the server. You can also start or stop the server to free up the resources that were used for a long time to improve server performance.

Before you begin

You must have completed the following tasks:

  • Installed Git Bash on Windows.
  • Saved user data before you shut down HCL OneTest Server.
  • Communicated to the users about the unavailability of the system until the process is completed.
  • Been granted proper permissions that are required for installing and uninstalling the software.

About this task

You can manually start or stop HCL OneTest Server services by using scripts.

Procedure

  1. Open a new terminal.
    Note: On Windows, you must use Git Bash to run the scripts.
  2. Change the directory path by entering the following command: cd <installation directory path>\OneTest
  3. Start or stop the services based on the requirement:
    • To start the HCL OneTest Server services, enter the following command:./startup.sh
    • To stop the HCL OneTest Server services, enter the following command:./shutdown.sh
