Configuring security policy settings

To read Notes encrypted mail in HCL Traveler for Microsoft™ Outlook (HTMO), users must have a Notes ID file uploaded to the ID vault by your Domino administrator or the Notes ID file uploaded to their mail file. Using the ID vault is recommended.

Before you begin

For more information on setting up an ID vault, see Creating and configuring an ID vault in the HCL Domino documentation. If S/MIME encryption is being used with local certificates or a SmartCard, then using an ID Vault or having an ID uploaded to your mail file, is not required.

If using an ID vault, ensure the following ID vault security policy settings are configured:

Procedure

  1. Open the Domino® Administrator client, select the People & Groups tab, and select Settings.
  2. Click the Add Settings button and select Security.
  3. Select the ID Vault tab, and complete the following fields:
    1. Enter the name of a vault in the Assigned vault field
    2. Set the Allow Notes-based programs to use the Notes ID Vault field to Yes
ID vault tab on server document
  4. Click Save & Close to save the Security Settings document.
