Specifying internet addresses for rooms

The IBM Traveler server requires internet addresses for rooms. Internet addresses aid in room display and room configuration and help prevent server name exposure. If your organization uses rooms that do not have internet addresses, internet addresses are generated for them.

About this task

Internet addresses for rooms requires that servers configured for IBM mail support for Microsoft Outlook have an SMTP Inbound Site document configured and the SMTP listener enabled. This requirement may affect the internal routing algorithm selection for next hop protocol if SMTP routing is allowed within the local internet domain. For example, MIME messages or even CD if configured on the sending server may route over SMTP instead of NRPC. Review these instructions in the IBM® Domino® documentation for further details: Changing SMTP inbound port settings.
