Dropping user sessions on a server

Dropping user sessions from a server may be useful when you need to make a database or server temporarily unavailable to correct a problem; users can reconnect after you are ready. You can drop one user session or all user sessions for the current database, or selected user sessions, from the server.

Procedure

  1. From the Domino® Administrator, click the Server > Status tab.
  2. To select user sessions to drop from a specific database, follow these substeps:
    1. Select Database Users to display the list of database users.
    2. Optional: Select the user you want to drop.
    3. Select Tools > User > Drop.
    4. Do one of these:
      • Select a specific user of the database to drop.
      • Choose to drop all user sessions for the specified database.
  3. To drop user sessions from the server without regard to use of a specific database, follow these substeps:
    1. Select Notes Users to display the list of current users.
    2. Optional: Select the user or users whose sessions you want to drop.
    3. Select Tools > User > Drop.
  4. Click Drop, and if necessary, OK.
