Assigning dynamic policies to users and groups

You can assign users and groups to a new dynamic policy while you are creating the policy or you can assign users and groups to an existing explicit policy.

About this task

To create and assign new policies, or to assign existing policies, you must have Editor access to the IBM® Domino® Directory and one of these roles:
  • PolicyCreator role to create a policy document
  • PolicyModifier role to modify a policy document

Creating and assigning a new policy

Procedure

  1. From the Domino® Administrator, click the People & Groups tab, and then click Policies.
  2. Click Add Policy.

    Policy name

    Enter a unique name for an explicit policy.

    Policy type

    Choose Explicit.

    Description

    Enter a description of the policy.

    Category

    Specify a category, for example, the name of a geographical location, to further define how or where the policy is to be assigned.

  3. Click the Policy Assignment tab, and then assign the policy to the appropriate users and groups.
  4. Click Save and Close.

Assigning an existing explicit policy to users or groups

Procedure

  1. From the Domino® Administrator, click the People & Groups tab, and then click Policies.
  2. Select the explicit policy to which you are assigning users and groups, and then click Edit Policy.
  3. Click Policy Assignment, and then select the users and groups you are assigning to that policy.
  4. Click Save and Close.
