IBM® i server commands
You can use IBM® i server commands to manage Domino® with IBM i.
End Domino® Server (ENDDOMSVR)
The End Domino® Server command allows you to stop a Domino server that is running. You can choose to either stop all (*ALL) Domino servers on your system, or you can stop a specific Domino server.

  Topics in this section describe the tools you can use to administer a Domino® server.
  - The Domino® Administrator
    The Domino® Administrator is the administration client for Notes® and Domino. You can use the Domino Administrator to perform most administration tasks.

    If you have a browser and want to manage and view settings for a Domino® server, you can use the Domino Web Administrator to perform most of the tasks that are available through the Domino Administrator. This section includes the following information about the Domino Web Administrator:
  - The Server Controller and the Domino® Console
    The Server Controller is a Java-based program that controls a Domino® server. Starting the Server Controller starts the Domino server it controls. When a server runs under a Server Controller, you can send operating system commands, Controller commands, and Domino server commands to the Server Controller.

    - CFGDOMSVR
      The Configure Domino® Server command allows you to either set up a Domino server to run natively on your system, or to completely remove an existing Domino server. When configuring a Domino server, you have the option of setting up a first Domino server, or adding a Domino server to an existing Domino domain
    - CHGDOMSVR
      Use the Change Domino® Server command to change the configuration of an existing Domino server on your system.
    - Delete Domino® Shared Memory (DLTDOMSHM)
      The delete domino shared memory (DLTDOMSHM) command deletes Domino®/ Sametime® shared memory segments of a specific Domino server or all Domino servers. Use this command if the server will not restart after it is shut down abnormally. When a server is shut down abnormally, bad shared memory segments might remain in the memory, which prevents the server from being restarted. This tool helps to delete any bad shared memory segments so that the server can be restarted.
    - Delete Licensed Program (DLTLICPGM)
      The Delete Licensed Program (DLTLICPGM) command allows you to delete all of the objects that make up a licensed program. When using this command to delete the Domino® software, you can choose to delete the entire product or specific options of the product.
    - Display Domino® Console (DSPDOMCSL)
      The Display Domino® Console command provides a way to view the status and jobs of a Domino server. When using this command, you can not submit Domino subcommands to the Domino server.
    - Display Software Resources (DSPSFWRSC)
      The Display Software Resources command allows you to view, print, or write to an output file the list of installed software resources. This command is useful when verifying which software versions are already installed on your system. When you enter this command, you will see a display that lists the product ID, option, feature code, and a text description of each item.
    - End Domino® Server (ENDDOMSVR)
      The End Domino® Server command allows you to stop a Domino server that is running. You can choose to either stop all (*ALL) Domino servers on your system, or you can stop a specific Domino server.
    - Load and Run Media Program (LODRUN)
      The Load and Run Media Program command can be used during the installation process of a software product. You can use this command to install a product from tape, diskette, or optical device.
    - Run Domino® Command (RUNDOMCMD)
      The Run Domino® Command (RUNDOMCMD) runs a CL command in the context of a particular Domino server.
    - Restore Licensed Program (RSTLICPGM)
      The Restore Licensed Program command provides a way to load a licensed program whether you are installing for the first time, updating to a new release of a product, or recovering from a lost or damaged state.
    - Submit Domino® Command (SBMDOMCMD)
      The Submit Domino® Command provides a way to submit Domino server commands to run on a Domino server on your system.
    - Set Domino® Environment (SETDOMENV)
      The Set Domino® Environment command sets the operating system job environment to the context of a particular Domino server.
    - Start Domino® Server (STRDOMSVR)
      The Start Domino® Server command allows you to start a Domino server. You can choose to start all (*ALL) Domino servers on your system, or a specific Domino server. In addition, you can choose whether or not you want to activate the Java™ Server Controller when you start your Domino server.
    - Update Domino® Server (UPDDOMSVR)
      The Update Domino Server command allows you to update specific Domino® servers to newer releases.
    - Work with Domino® Console (WRKDOMCSL)
      The Work with Domino® Console command provides a way to submit Domino server commands to a specific Domino server.
    - Work with Domino® Servers (WRKDOMSVR)
      The Work with Domino® Servers command provides a way to manipulate certain aspects of the Domino servers on your system.
    - Work with Subsystems (WRKSBS)
      The Work with Subsystems (WRKSBS) command allows you to end a subsystem, display the subsystem description, and work with subsystem jobs.

      The following table lists typical administrative tasks for a Domino® server (called DOMSERV1) and shows the CL command that you can use to perform the task.

End Domino® Server (ENDDOMSVR)

The End Domino® Server command allows you to stop a Domino® server that is running. You can choose to either stop all (*ALL) Domino® servers on your system, or you can stop a specific Domino® server.

The following two options allow you to stop a Domino® server immediately or in a controlled manner:

*CNTRLD stops all operating system jobs used by the Domino® server, but the subsystem used by the server remains operational.
*IMMED stops all processing by the Domino® server and the subsystem used by the server immediately. Since data could be lost, this option should only be used when the Domino® server fails to shut down using the *CNTRLD option.

You can also choose whether or not to stop the Java™ Server Controller related to your Domino® server when the server stops.

To stop a Domino® server, you must have *JOBCTL special authority.
