This task must be completed on each of the Conversion servers.
The IBM Docs conversion
server has monitors to ensure that the processes that convert the
different documents into formats that are used by the IBM Docs editors are
available and working properly. It is done through the task schedulers
in Windows™. To ensure these
schedulers are active and available, they need to be configured properly
for your Windows environment.
Procedure
- Log in to the Document Format Conversion server with an
administrator account.
- Click .
- Click Task Scheduler Library.

Double-click the sym_monitor task instance.
Note: To prevent Windows power shell screens from displaying for this task, select the check box
for Hidden.
- Click the General tab. Under Security
options, select the following options:
- Run whether user is logged on or not
- Do not store password
- Run with highest privileges
- Click the Triggers tab.
- Select One time and click Edit.
- Specify values for the following settings. Suggested values
are provided. Click OK.

- Click OK.
- Click OK to close the Properties window.
- Right-click sym_monitor and select End.
When prompted Do you want to end all instances of this
task? click Yes. The status of
the task changes to Ready.
- Right-click sym_monitor and select Run.
- Confirm that the status is Running.
You might need to click refresh to show this state.

Repeat the preceding process for the
kill_timeout
task.
Note: To prevent Windows power shell screens from displaying for this task, select the check box
for Hidden.
Note: It can take up to 5 minutes for the processes to start after restarting the Windows server. You can check the status in the task scheduler, or monitor
for the creation of soffice.bin processes in the task manager.
