Backing up the SQL database on the new server

Back up the new SQL database on the new server and then drop it. You can roll it back if the side-by-side migration fails.

About this task

If you need more details on creating a full database backup or restoring a database backup, see the SQL server product documentation on the Microsoft Developer Network Library web site.

Procedure

  1. Back up the SQL database on the IBM® Connections Docs 2.0 server.
  2. Drop the SQL server by using the dropDb script in the SetupDB\sqlserver directory, where you extract the 2.0 installation package.
  3. Optional: If the side-by-side migration fails, roll back to the IBM Docs 2.0 database version.
