Upgrading or migratingYou can upgrade IBM® Connections Docs from the previous two releases to the current release by using the installer or upgrade scripts. You can also install the latest release on new hardware and then do a side-by-side migration from the old to the new.
Migrating to IBM Docs 2.0You install IBM® Connections Docs 2.0 on new hardware with the previous version of IBM Docs kept intact on old hardware. Then you must perform a side-by-side migration of data to make sure the new system work well with no missing data, and the transition to the new system is transparent to end user.
Migrating data from the old database to 2.0Do a side-by-side migration of data from the old databases, and update the schemas to the most recent IBM® Connections Docs 2.0 level.
Backing up the IBM Docs 2.0 databaseIn the new environment, prepare to restore data from the old server to the new server by first backing up the database for IBM® Connections Docs2.0, and then dropping it.

Procedure

Backup the IBM® Connections Docs 2.0 Oracle database.
Drop the Oracle database by using the dropDb script in the SetupDB\oracle directory, where you extract the 2.0 installation package.
Roll back the database if the side-by-side migration fails. You must restore the backup of the IBM Docs 2.0 Oracle database.
