Removing clusters and servers

Before you install, check whether any cluster and server names that you want to use already exist, for example, IBMDocsCluster, IBMDocsMember 1,...,n, IBMConversionCluster, IBMConversionMember1,...,n , IBMViewerCluster, IBMViewerMember1,...,n, IBMDocsProxyCluster and IBMDocsProxyMember1,...,n. If they already exist, you must remove them.

About this task

During the installation process, these cluster names and server names will be created. Therefore, if you do not remove them beforehand, it might cause severe problems.

Procedure

  • To remove the clusters, do the steps:
    1. Login Deployment Manager of WebSphere Application Server.
    2. Go to Servers > Clusters > WebSphere application server clusters.
    3. Check whether IBMDocsCluster, IBMConversionCluster, and IBMViewerCluster exist. If yes, select each of them and then click the Delete button.
    4. Go to Servers > Clusters > Proxy server clusters and check whether IBMDocsProxyCluster. If yes, select it and then click the Delete button.
    5. Save changes.
  • To remove the servers, do the steps:
    1. Login Deployment Manager of WebSphere Application Server.
    2. Go to Servers > Server Types > WebSphere application servers.
    3. Check whether IBMDocsMember 1,...,n, IBMConversionMember1,...,n , and IBMViewerMember1,...,n exist. If yes, select each of them and then click the Delete button.
    4. Go to Servers > Server Types > WebSphere proxy servers, and check whether IBMDocsProxyMember1,...,n exits. If yes, select it and then click the Delete button.
    5. Save changes.
