Updates for HCL Connections™ 6.5 are delivered through Cumulative Refreshes (CRs). Each refresh contains the changes included in all previous refreshes or interim fixes for a release. Install the latest Cumulative Refresh and prerequisite software to take advantage of all available changes.

Downloading the latest Cumulative Refresh (CR) and related updates

Download an HCL Connections Cumulative Refresh and related software updates from the HCL Flexnet Support Portal.

Before you begin

Back up HCL Connections™ and all customized files. For more information, see Getting ready for migrating or updating topic.

About this task

To install the latest CR, first download the following updates:

Installation Manager 1.8.5 64-bit or later Fixpack (needed only if you did not install it with Connections 6.0)
WebSphere® Application Server 8.5.5.16 and supplemental software, HTTP Server 8.5 and Web Server Plug-ins for IBM® WebSphere® Application Server 8.5
Connections 6.5 CR1 update package

Procedure

On the system where the Deployment Manager is installed, create temporary folders for downloading and extracting the files for this Cumulative Refresh.

C:\Install\CONNECTIONS-CR\HC-CR1
Using a browser, go to the HCL FlexNet software portal.
Search for each update you need and follow the online instructions to download and extract each package to the temporary folders you created.
