Managing the Metrics environment

You can manage the Metrics environment by modifying configuration settings and running administrative commands that determine how Metrics data is collected and reported.

About this task

Manage the metrics environment by using the wsadmin client to specify settings in a configuration file or to run administrative commands.

The configuration file contains settings that control when and how Metrics operations are performed. When you make configuration changes, you use scripts to check out the Metrics configuration file, modify settings, and then check the file back in. A server restart is required for your changes to take effect.

Administrative commands perform tasks that manipulate Metrics content, change member access levels and synchronize member IDs, and manage scheduled tasks in Metrics.
