Administering Connections V5.5Welcome to the IBM Connections V5.5 documentation. IBM Connections is social networking software designed for the workplace. Its features help you to establish dynamic networks that connect you to the people and information you need to achieve your business goals.
AdministeringRun administration and maintenance tasks to keep your environment up-to-date. For example, learn how to customize your deployment or how to use the wsadmin utility to edit configuration files. You can also schedule tasks, maintain application databases, moderate content, or manage users and their roles.
Disabling widgetsYou can disable widgets from displaying on the Home page or elsewhere in IBM® Connections when you no longer want them to be available to your users.
Editing widgetsEdit a widget to change its name, description, or deployment descriptor.
Removing widgetsIf a third-party widget is no longer used or needed, you can remove it from the widget catalog. You cannot remove IBM® Connections widgets from the catalog, you can only disable them.
Administering LibrariesA Library provides the services of an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system to Communities. To enable the use of Libraries, you must make some configuration changes to Connections and to each ECM system that you plan to use.

Enabling linked libraries

Enable the Linked Library widget in IBM® Connections so that community owners can add linked libraries to their communities.

About this task

Linked libraries are installed with IBM Connections, but you must enable them.

Procedure

Edit widgets-config.xml to include the Linked Library widget definition:

Uncomment the following XML widget definition following the resource type="community":
