The management of mastership affects how database objects are accessed and manipulated by users in your MultiSite environment. Mastership management is an ongoing process as new objects are entered into the database and users' requirements change.

You can change the mastership of database objects such as records and Workspace items to accommodate the changing needs of users in your environment.

On occasion, the mastership of a database object may be changed accidently. You can reverse the mastership change when this occurs.

About this task

To reverse a mastership change:

At your replica, send an update packet to the new master replica.
At the new master replica, perform the following tasks:
1. Import the packet.
2. Change mastership back to your replica.
3. Export and send an update packet to your replica.
At your replica, import the packet.
