Resource Groups: Type

Use this page to create resource groups.

Select the appropriate radio button to specify the resource group type:

• Implicit
• Explicit

Explicit resource groups are usually used for grouping controller command resources for the purpose of command-level policies. They are also used for grouping data bean resources for the purpose of data bean policies.

Implicit resource groups are usually used in resource-level policies, when the class name of the resource, by itself, is not sufficient. For example, you should use an implicit resource group if a policy is to pertain only to instances of a certain class that also has a specific attribute value.
