Organizations
Use this list to view all organizations and organizational units.
- Name
- The name of the organization or organizational unit, such as "IBM" or "Electronic Commerce Division". You can enter the name of any organization that you are authorized to manage.
- Parent
- The parent or top level organization for this organization or organizational unit. For example, the parent organization of the Electronic Commerce Division is IBM.
- Status
- Indicates whether the organization is in a locked or unlocked state.
- Organization Type
- Indicates whether this is an organization or organizational unit. An organization, such as IBM, can include several organizational units, such as the Electronic Commerce Division, the Database Division, and the Software Division.
- New
- Click this button to add a new organization or organizational unit.
- Change
- Click this button to edit details about the organization or organizational unit, such as its name, description, address, and contact information.
- Approvals
- Click this button to view a list of approval levels for the organization or organizational unit. Approval may be required to complete specific tasks, such as approving the creation of new organizations.
- Roles
- Click this button to view a list of roles defined for the organization or organizational unit.
- Lock/Unlock
- Click this button to lock or unlock an organization.
- Partner Group
- Click this button to view a list of distributors and their associated partner groups for the reseller.
- Partner Sites
- Click this button to view a list of distributors for the organization.
- Policy Subscription
- Click this button to subscribe an organization to a policy group.
Notes:
Locking an organization prevents only the users who belong to that organization from logging into the system. To prevent other users such as registered customers from accessing the resources owned by a locked organization, you should close or suspend the store before you lock the organization. In addition, the Logon command only checks the ancestors of a user, not the ancestors of the store to which the customer logs on.
It is not recommended that you delete an organization. Deleting an organization will invalidate all things owned by that organization. For more information about what will be deleted, see the MEMBER database file.
