Create New Customer - General
Use this page to provide details about a customer when registering a new customer to a store, including the person's name, and assigning them a login ID, password, and challenge question used for security when accessing the store.
- Customer logon ID
- Required: Type the customer's logon ID for the store.
- Password
- Required: Type the customer's password for accessing the store. This field accepts up to 70 characters.
- Title
- Select the customer's title. If the title is unknown, select Not available.
- Account status
- Select the current status of the customer's account with the store. Select Enable to specify that the account is enabled (for example, if a customer is locked out of the account, you can manually enable it by selecting this option). Select Disable to specify that the customer's account is inactive (for example, if the customer has tried to log on several times with an invalid logon ID or password, the customer may be locked out of the account).
- First name
- Type the customer's first name. This field accepts up to 64 characters.
- Middle name
- Type the customer's middle name or initial. This field accepts up to 64 characters.
- Last name
- Required: Type the customer's last name. This field accepts up to 64 characters.
- Preferred language
- Select the customer's preferred language of communication. If no language is specified, the store's default language will be used.
- Preferred currency
- Select the customer's preferred shopping and payment currency. If no currency is specified, the store's default currency will be used.
- Challenge question
- Type a question to confirm the customer's identity. The challenge question and answer is for security purposes. For example, if a customer forgets the logon ID or password, you can ask the customer a challenge question (such as "What is your mother's maiden name?") to confirm the customer's identity and grant access to the store. This field accepts up to 254 alphanumeric characters.

- Type the answer to the challenge question. This field accepts up to 254 alphanumeric characters.
