Changing the type or semantic of a merchandising association

About this task

To change the type or semantic of a merchandising association:

Procedure

  1. Find a catalog entry used as a source in a merchandising association.
  2. Select the source catalog entry, displaying the target catalog entries in the table.
  3. From the Target Catalog Entry table, select the association you want to change and do the following:
    1. Change the Association type: accessory, replacement, up-sell, or cross-sell. Any custom merchandising association types you created will also display.
    2. Change the Semantic identifier: requires, comes with, none, or temp. Any custom merchandising association semantics you created will also display.
  4. Click Save.

Results

  • If you based your catalog on the Commerce Plaza starter store catalog, as part of the default behavior you need the following before you can display the newly created merchandising association:
    • create an e-Marketing Spot that displays product information
    • a Web activity scheduled for the e-Marketing Spot
    • If you are in a reseller environment, you can only update merchandising associations which belong to the reseller, but you can view the manufacturer's merchandising associations.
