Publishing the Madisons enhancements store archive

The MadisonsEnhancements.sar file is a store archive that adds features to the Madisons starter store. Use the Publish wizard in the Administration Console to publish this store archive on top of the Madisons starter store.

The MadisonsEnhancements.sar store archive adds the following enhancements to the Madisons starter store:

Remote widgets

Adds new and enhanced store pages to demonstrate:

e-Marketing Spot, and wish list remote widgets
e-Marketing Spot feeds
Multiple wish lists per customer

Digital wallet

Serves as a container for digital coupons in an online coupon wallet. It enables redemption of digital coupons in WebSphere Commerce starter stores, including the Madisons mobile starter store. It is used to store, access, manage, and organize customer coupon assets, and contains references to the coupon definitions stored for promotions.

Coshopping

Coshopping enables two shoppers to explore a store, view products, and chat about products in a single, linked browsing session.

Subscriptions and recurring orders

Enables shoppers to create recurring orders and to be able to purchase subscription products in the store.

Search-based navigation

Enables enhanced search capabilities in the storefront such as spelling correction, automatic search term suggestions, search term highlighting, wildcard searching, and facets in search results.

Provides sample JSP and JavaScript files to support dynamic recommendations from IBM Product Recommendations, formerly known as Coremetrics Intelligent Offer.

Adds five e-Marketing Spots to store pages to support dynamic recommendations from IBM Product Recommendations, formerly known as Coremetrics Intelligent Offer.

Dynamic kit integration with Sterling Configurator

Allows products to be configured. Models are associated to dynamic kits to define the rules that are followed when a product is being configured.

Mobile starter stores

Provides optimized mobile starter stores for smartphone and tablet devices.

Facebook integration

Leverage the power of the world's biggest social media community to spread the word on products or your store by using the embedded Like or Send buttons.

Before you begin

You must publish the Madisons.sar store archive after you install WebSphere Commerce Version 7.0 fix pack 1 or later. When you install the fix pack, a new version of the Madisons.sar store archive installs on your machine. This store archive contains the latest Madisons fixes plus necessary extension points for the MadisonsEnhancements.sar store archive. The MadisonsEnhancements.sar store archive does not work properly with earlier versions of the Madisons starter store.

About this task

The Publish wizard publishes the MadisonsEnhancements.sar file at the following path:

WCDE_installdir/starterstores/AddOnFeatures
WC_installdir/starterstores/AddOnFeatures

Procedure

Open the Administration Console, selecting the Site option.
From the Store Archives menu, select Publish. The Store Archives page displays and lists the store archives that are available for publish. By default, the available composite store archives displays.
From the View list, select Add On Feature.
Select MadisonsEnhancements.sar.
Click Next.
Select the Madisons-based starter store onto which you want to publish the Madisons enhancements store archive. The Publish wizard must publish the Madisons enhancements store archive on top of the Madisons starter store; no other starter stores are supported.
There are three stores:
- Marketing store
- Catalog store
- Customer facing store
- If you are using a single store setup, then choose the same store for all three.
- If you are using an Extended sites model, choose the appropriate stores that you are using.
Click Next. The Summary page displays, listing the store archive and parameters that are selected, and the location to which the store archive is published.
After you review the summary information, click Finish. A confirmation dialog display, which includes the number of the publishing job. Note the job number for future reference.
To check the publishing status, click Refresh.
When the Publish Status column displays Successful, select the corresponding job number. Click Details.
To launch the published store in a browser, click Launch Store.

If your storefront does not display the category navigation, you must rebuild the search index. For more information, see Troubleshooting: Storefront categories do not display after you publish a store archive.
When you finish viewing the store, bookmark the site, and close the browser.
Restart the WebSphere Commerce Server.

Results

Note: Search-based navigation is enabled by default after you publish the Madisons enhancements store archive.

WebSphere Commerce search is automatically set up and the search index is built. However, the site content search index subtype is not setup by default and must be manually built.
You must manually set up WebSphere Commerce search and build the search index. For more information, s Administering WebSphere Commerce search.

If you do not want to use search-based navigation, you must turn off this store function in the Store Management tool after you publish the store archive or you get errors on the storefront.

Note: You must restart your WebSphere Commerce server when you change the store function value for Search-based navigation.
