Installing WebSphere Commerce on a single machine using the installation wizard

The installation wizard guides you through the installation of WebSphere Commerce. The WebSphere Commerce product will be installed on your machine using a GUI based local installation.

Before you begin

Review the Working with WebSphere Commerce physical media topic. It contains important tips about mounting physical media.

SolarisLinuxAIXIf you want to use launchpad, ensure that you have Mozilla Firefox 10 or earlier installed. Launchpad does not support Mozilla Firefox browsers later than Firefox 10.

About this task

Review the following suggestions before starting the installation wizard:
  • Do not exit the launchpad while the installation wizard is running.
  • The installation wizard copies a number of large files from the DVD when it is started. The installation wizard will take a few moments to start. Do not start another instance of the WebSphere Commerce installation wizard while one is already running. If you exit the second occurrence of the wizard, your first installation will fail.
  • If at any point during the installation, the text in the installation wizard appears to be cut off or missing, resize the wizard so that you can read all of the text on the wizard.
