Diagram 1 - Small workgroup deployment flow diagram

This is a flow diagram that depicts data flow between product and other components in a small workgroup deployment.

The AppScan® Source server is depicted with four components: a source control client, AppScan Enterprise Server, a database server, and the AppScan Source Database.

The Build server is depicted with one component, AppScan Source for Automation.

Client pieces are assigned typical roles:

  • A security analyst will typically use AppScan Source for Analysis and a source control client on a local machine.
  • A developer will typically use AppScan Source for Development and a source control client on a local machine.
  • An administrator will typically use AppScan Source for Analysis and a source control client on a local machine.
  • A manager will typically use a web browser on a local machine.

The remaining components that are depicted are the AppScan Enterprise Console and a source control server. The source control server is connected to the source control client that is part of the AppScan Source server.

Data flows in this manner:

  • From the security analyst, developer, and administrator machines to AppScan Enterprise Server and the AppScan Enterprise Console.
  • Between the manager machine and the AppScan Enterprise Console.
  • From the source control server to source control clients on the security analyst, developer, and administrator machines - and to the build server.
  • Between AppScan Enterprise Server and the AppScan Enterprise Console.
  • Between AppScan Enterprise Server and the database server.
  • Between the database server and the AppScan Source Database.
