Submitting defects to Rational® Quality Manager or Rational Team Concert

If you use Rational® Quality Manager or Rational Team Concert to track defects, you can submit defects for tracking right from the reports. If you want users to submit issues as defects from an application in the Monitor view, do not configure Rational Team Concert in the Administration view.

Before you begin

Note:
  1. If you submit defects from the Scans view, the data is not synced with the Monitor view. Issues that are created from the Scans view don't create an external ID on the Monitor view. Issues that are created as defects from the Monitor view don't create a defect icon and link on the report in the Scans view.
  2. Communication with Rational Team Concert or Rational® Quality Manager must already be configured in the Administration > General Settings.

Procedure

  1. Go to the report that contains the defects you want to submit.
  2. Select the check box of the issue or issues.
  3. Select the defect tracking system from the list and click Apply. If this is your first time connecting to the defect tracking system during this session, you will have to enter your user credentials.
  4. A Work Item column appears when the defect has been successfully logged.
  5. Click the Defect icon (defect) to open the defect in the defect tracking system so that you can prioritize it and assign it for remediation.
